Dr. Bell cares for and operates on patients with various kinds of cancer, including Breast Cancer, Colon and Rectal Cancer, Thyroid Cancer. This includes sentinel lymph node mapping for breast cancer and melanoma, as well as the management of terminally ill patients, including palliative care and management of pain, weight loss, and cachexia in patients with malignant and chronic conditions.

Dr. Bell has been performing laparoscopic colectomy for colon cancer and colon polyps since 1992. He participated in one of the largest studies regarding the value of laparoscopy in colon surgery, published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2004
