Reginald C.W. Bell M.D., FACS is a Board Certified General Surgeon in private practice in Englewood, Colorado. He specializes in Gastrointestinal Surgery as well as Benign and Cancerous Tumors, Endocrine, Hernia, and Breast Surgery. (The field of General Surgery today is a specialty encompassing the above areas of expertise.)
Dr. Bell is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, as well as a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, the American Society of General Surgeons, and the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons.
Dr. Bell has been in practice since 1990. He has a special interest in laparoscopic surgery, including antireflux procedures for gastroesophageal reflux, the Lap-Band for weight loss, colorectal surgery, and hernia repair. He teaches other surgeons on a regular basis, especially regarding antireflux surgery and hernia repair.
Reginald (Reg) Bell earned undergraduate degrees in Physics and in English Literature at Stanford University in 1976. He then completed a Master's Degree in the Study of Religion at the University of Virginia, and began work on a Ph.D. in the Study of Religion at Harvard University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in 1979. However, the desire to be a physician won out, and as president of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, he received his M.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1985. He interned and received his General Surgical training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado, completing as Chief Resident in 1990.
